2B-BLUE Partners Meet in Thessaloniki to Advance Project Implementation
On April 22–23, 2026, partners of the 2B-BLUE project gathered in Thessaloniki, Greece, for a two-day meeting hosted by the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR). The event combined field activities with strategic discussions to support ongoing project implementation.
The first day featured a visit to the Greek Demonstration Site in Chalastra, located in the Thermaikos Gulf, followed by a stop at the Axios Delta Information Centre. Participants observed local aquaculture practices and learned about environmental management and governance frameworks directly from site representatives. This hands-on experience provided valuable insights and fostered engagement with local stakeholders.
On the second day, the 5th Steering Committee meeting brought together 16 participants, both in person and online. Discussions focused on progress across all Work Packages, including CO₂ monitoring, coordination efforts, and the status of key deliverables. Partners also reviewed reporting requirements, timelines, and upcoming activities.
A key outcome of the meeting was the unanimous approval of a request to extend the project duration under Interreg Euro-MED Fast-Lane procedures, aimed at strengthening the transfer of results and activities.
The meeting concluded with clear agreements on next steps, reinforcing collaboration and ensuring continued progress toward project goals.
