On May 28th, the 4th French #2B‑BLUE T‑Lab, organized by Ifremer and Pôle Mer Méditerranée, brought together experts and representatives from research, industry and public institutions in Palavas‑les‑Flots and Maguelone.
The T‑Lab combined a site visit with workshops, connecting local challenges with a broader Euro‑Mediterranean perspective. A clear consensus emerged: research and testing facilities need to work more closely together, sharing data, knowledge and practical solutions linking research, innovation and industry at Mediterranean scale.
Key priorities identified include better access to infrastructures (especially for small and medium companies), stronger science–industry linkages, enhanced data sharing and decision-support tools and reinforced public–private cooperation. Participants also highlighted major challenges, such as adaptation to climate change, reducing pressure on marine resources and ensuring economic sustainability.
By aligning stakeholders around shared priorities, this T‑Lab marks a shift from planning to action, supporting the development of innovative and resilient solutions that contribute to the European Union blue economy and healthier oceans by 2030.
