Description of the organization

CTN aims to improve the competitiveness of the overall marine and maritime sector through the development of new technological solutions and technology transfer. CTN members are SMEs, largescale companies, Universities and Research Centres of the marine and maritime sectors. CTN is also a member of different maritime organizations and co-founder of the Spanish Maritime Cluster (CME).

CTN encourages the integration of all the actors of the sector with the aim to improve the cooperation and collaboration among them, the search of new business opportunities, the preparation of new innovative solutions and the development of R&D projects. CTN has a wide experience in the development, management and exploitation of European funded projects.

Competences and involvement in 2B-BLUE

  • CTN will encourage the integration of all the actors of the sector with the aim to improve cooperation and collaboration among them, in the search for new business opportunities.
  • CTN will bring all its knowledge and network to the project to facilitate the development of pilot initiatives (DS, TLabs) to promote the transfer and implementation of solutions in real environments.
  • CTN will help with the mapping of Blue Biotechnology best practices and stakeholders.
  • CTN will be involved in Co-designing of BBt testing and knowledge transferring framework.
  • CTN will assist in the showcasing and dissemination of Demo-sites and project results.

Team members

Noelia Ortega Ortega
Director of CTN. Co-founder of the regional maritime cluster. Former member of the board of directors of the Spanish Maritime Cluster. Expert in innovation and technological cooperation projects for the blue economy. Coordinator of the Quietmed 1 and 2 and Quietseas projects. Advisor to the E.C. and its agencies on innovation and the blue economy.

 

Jordi Solé Rebull
Jordi is the EU Projects Office Manager at CTN with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. He has over 15 years of experience in R&D projects in the naval, maritime, and oceonagraphic sectors. His human-center approach and technical expertise make him a valued leader. 

Jose Manuel Antón García
Jose is the Blue Economy Project Manager at CTN, with a decade of experience connecting SMEs and industry stakeholders. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Economics and focuses on fostering collaboration within the maritime sector. His works help drive innovation and partnerships in the blue economy.   

 

Elena Argüelles Gómez
Elena holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Translation and Interpretation and an Executive MBA, with over 20 years of management and coordination experience. As a European Project Technician at CTN, she leads complex projects to succefull outcomes, leveraging her expertise to guide teams effectively.
