IE Business School students learn about the European 2B-BLUE project

On 18 and 19 November, 90 students from the Mar Menor Challenge course at IE Business School in Madrid, Spain, took part in an online conference dedicated to the European 2B-BLUE project and its demonstration site in the Port of Alicante.

Amelia Cánovas, a researcher at the Intelligent and Telematic Systems Group at the University of Murcia — the institution coordinating the Interreg Euro-MED 2B-BLUE project — led the session. The conference provided a valuable opportunity to raise awareness of the project’s objectives among a multidisciplinary academic community dedicated to sustainability and social innovation.

Through the IE Impact programme, students trained in humanities, technology and entrepreneurship learn to step outside their comfort zone, question existing solutions and work in conditions of uncertainty. This educational approach fosters an entrepreneurial mindset centred on ideation, design, and validation of business models aimed at addressing long-term challenges.

The knowledge acquired about the Interreg Euro-MED 2B-BLUE project provided a framework for analysis to reflect on and propose innovative and inspiring solutions in the field of blue biotechnologies tested at its demonstration sites, as well as in public-private partnership models.

The activity will contribute to broadening the impact and visibility of the project in an international educational environment and will encourage the generation of ideas aimed at promoting entrepreneurship within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals.
