2B-BLUE Participates in Smart City Expo 2025 in Barcelona
2B-BLUE was present at the Smart City Expo World Congress 2025, the world’s leading event on urban innovation, held recently in Barcelona. As a major global meeting point for public authorities, researchers, and industry leaders, the Expo once again highlighted the growing importance of sustainable, efficient, and human-centered cities in the Century of Cities.
As part of the Expo, 2B-BLUE took part in the MED Innovation Summit – “ReWeaving Circular Governance in the Mediterranean”, a side event organized by the Interreg Euro-MED Innovative Sustainable Economy Mission. The session brought together experts from across the Mediterranean to explore new governance models that support circular economy transitions, with a focus on transforming waste—especially textiles—into a valuable resource.
Representatives from UMU (University of Murcia), IMIB (National Institute of Biology), and CTN (Marine Technology Center) contributed to the discussion on behalf of 2B-BLUE, showcasing the project’s work on digital tools, transformative labs, and cross-sector governance connecting land- and sea-based economies. Their participation highlighted how 2B-BLUE is helping shape more resilient and innovative Mediterranean regions.
The event gathered more than 50 attendees and offered a valuable space for dialogue, collaboration, and the exchange of practical solutions to accelerate circular governance across the Mediterranean.
