Coastal Management Workshop Brings Together Around 100 Mediterranean Actors

The University of Murcia, together with the 2B‑BLUE team, successfully hosted the XII Conference on the Marine and Coastal Environment in the Region of Murcia and the Valencian Community, bringing together around 100 Mediterranean actors. Participants included representatives from public administrations, universities, research centers, NGOs, and civil society, all sharing a common commitment to advancing sustainable solutions for the Mediterranean.

During the event, the 2B‑BLUE initiative showcased the Demonstration Site in Spain, developed in collaboration with Mediterranean Algae, highlighting innovative approaches for sustainable blue‑biotechnology applications and nature‑based solutions. The presentation drew strong interest from attendees and fostered a dynamic exchange of knowledge, best practices, and future opportunities for collaboration.

The conference was a major success, strengthening existing partnerships and generating new strategic alliances that will support continued progress in marine conservation and sustainable blue growth across the region. The high level of engagement reflects a growing Mediterranean community committed to innovation, governance, and the responsible use of marine resources.

The 2B‑BLUE team will continue working actively on the dissemination of project results, expanding outreach efforts to build an even broader network of Mediterranean stakeholders and ensuring long‑term impact in the region.
