The Mediterranean is rich in history, culture, biodiversity and opportunities. In the blue biotechnology sector, however, the Mediterranean is still in its infancy. This is due to the lack of identification of value chains, fragmentation of businesses, lack of collaborations and lack of good practices and piloting. Here is where 2B-BLUE comes into play. Our vision is to boost the blue biotechnology community in the Mediterranean. We will:
- Collect the good practices around Mediterranean and showcase the actors
- Pilot the activities in Spain, Slovenia, Italy, France, Greece and Albania
- Address blue biotechnology value chains from aquaculture, to waste valorization and other blue economy sectors
- Connect with important national and international experts from science, industry, policy and non-governmental sectors to facilitate the creation of community, transfer of good practices and propose solutions with potential commercial applications.
